Tut - How to fight your brain by Minzile Tut - How to fight your brain by Minzile
its done! :) my first tutorial. some things you might not know about drawing and your brain jet. common mistakes , an exercise. all the heart wants.

i own all the images used in this myself. you might use them as a reference if you want to but don't manipulate or something like that.

would be happy to see your pics if you take some things out of this :). just show me and i'll take a look.

so sharpen your pencils and go!

if you want to have more of that stuff read
books from Betty Edwards

Tut for inspiration:

Tutorial for traditional painting:

PS: thanks for the DD :la:! and concerning the spelling mistakes ;): take them as a part of the entertainment and have fun counting!

Tut - How to fight your brain by *Minzile -- Suggester's words: I think it's really helpful for everyone who struggles with drawing realism, and it goes straight to the point in a lighthearted manner. ( Suggested by AzureEcho and Featured by FantasyStock )

Very interesting! This helps quite a lot. While drawing, you don't necessarily need to think. Thanks~ :aww: I will see how this can change my art.

Funny enough I was explaining this technique to friends last night, they seems rather bemused to say the least. I was taught to draw like this from a very young age and have always adopted this method.
Congratulations on a wonderful tute, you have explained it better than I could ever have and used humour to emphasise it.. BRAVO

Ein wunderbares Tutorial, sehr hilfreich! ^___^

"drawing is not a matter of talented hands, its about who can shut down their brain"
It will be my new motto, but now I understand why one of Polish artists (Witkacy) always include name of psychoactive substations he took before drawing.

This is really neat, and I learned a thing actually.
But there is many typos, but I understood a part of it
until you explained to draw the picture with the paper in the way to prevent messyness,

I did not understand that part... at all.

i think you mean the part where i tell you to use a paper below your hand, so that you don't smear around the pencil lines? :)

Aha :D yes thats it.
What I usually do is that i scetch very messy, take a paper over it, and draw with a black liner pen.
xP unless i wanna keep that sketch as it is, I'd probably use a paper like that

I'm a bit ahead of the tut already actually
but this is still helpful as to constantly reminding what I'm suppose and not suppose to do
and well, you can have this as a form of entertainment lol, cause this is just quite funny in itself~

Because i don't struggle as much, it is more fun.

hehe nice idea ^^, my brain works the same way but more with salty stuff like nudles or fish :la:! only the cables hanging out of my head are a bit annoying, from time to time i include them in my hairstyling . thats wonderfull! i think you're already very good at drawing. i realized, that people that are advanced get more from the tutorials than bloody beginners. yes please show me when it's done .

haha ^^ glad you like it :D
yes that is true (not that i am advanced :D). I think because, when you are a bit more advanced, you already tried a lot of things and you're looking for something to improve your drawing instead of learning to draw. When you are beginner you copy everything in the tutorial and don't really explore drawing and find your own style. ... i think :)
