in my woodland dreams by Minzile in my woodland dreams by Minzile
... as i change, the seasons of my trees are changing with me.

a little homage to one of my most important dreamsymbols... the forest

___________
material: Oil on paper (A3) 2010

my first real attemp to work with some layers. it worked out quite well. no muddy colours ^^ and it looks as i wanted it to be :la: but i definately need to practice and get a feeling for that material. it works so different from acrylics.

I know it's trees, but when I look at it in the thumb it looks like musical instruments standing up.
Just a lovely painting.

That is fantastic! I am always amazed by whatever you come up with :)
I got a gift card for my local art shop and I'm looking to start with oils.... haven't used them much before, any tips for this new-timer? :)

the most important tip i can give you at the momente is: don't use too much colours and don't compare the material to acrylics it works totally different and try to use layers. (search for tutorials :D, and tell me when you found a good one :P) but the most important tip: try try try as long as it needs. you will be happy when you know how to handle the material. it is amazing to use and looks so brilliant!

Cool piece. The faster the better for me for paint drying too. I usually paint with a fan turned on and pointed to the canvas, helps to dry things quickly so they are captured the way I want them to look.

Amazing work as always! (I'm a fan) Its beautiful how the curves of the trees are so natural and I love the way they "reflect" on the ground! Wonderful work with the colours!

^^; oh i don't know how to get into a gallery and i don't believe that they would like my stuff. i don't have a very consistant style and i also don't want to get myself into borders just to be recognisable. idk maybe i'm simply to shy and this is just an excuse :XD:

have you tried doing something crazy for the artshow?

iv been in SOOOOOOO MANY GRAFFITI GALLERIES but my first fine art show i tryd to do art I THOUGHT THEY WANTED and they hated it but they loved the art i did for myself.iv seen horrendes art sell for hundreds and honesly if you have confidance in yourself and in your art people will see that and they to will respect you and your art. for galleries i dont paint things for them (unless they ask me to) but i just paint what i want, what i feel, whatever comes out . and i fellt like you ,i felt knowone would like my stuff and i couldent get into a gallery but now im in one and working on making a book.honestly its harder to sell the art and easyr to get into the galeries. altho i havent sold a painting i found out from the gallery owners that i have a fan base growing, people asking when i will have new paintings . i say you go for it get urself into galleries, get a face book and post and sell paintings on there , make a youtube account and make slide shows or vids of your art and sell there . you can even do it hear, the more sites you can sell on the more chance ull sell .hell if you start posting you art on other sights ill put your link and stuff on my face book to get people to see your work, ill soon have a you tube as well so if you wanted i could even put a link for you on you tube AND you dont have to do anything for me, i just wana help =)
